Monochromatic Solutions of Exponential Equations

We show that for every 2-coloring of N and every k 2 N, there are infinitely many monochromatic solutions of the system of k2 equations zij = x yj i , 1  i, j  k, where x1, . . . , xk, y1, . . . , yk are distinct positive integers greater than 1. We give similar, but somewhat weaker, results for more than two colors. – Dedicated to the memory of Paul Erdős.

Solving Nonlinear Integral Equations of the Hammerstein-type by Using Double Exponential Transformation

Abstract: In this paper, a Sinc-collocation method based on the double exponential transformation for solving Fredholm and Volterra Hammerstein integral equations is presented. Some properties of the Sinc-collocation method required for our subsequent development are given and utilized to reduce the computation of solution of the Hammerstein integral equations to some algebraic equations. Numer...

Numerical solutions of Hammerstein equations

In this chapter, we survey recent results on the numerical solutions of the Hammerstein equations. Hammerstein equations arise naturally in connection with the Laplace equation with a certain class of nonlinear boundary conditions. The Hammerstein equations with smooth as well as weakly singular kernels will be treated.

Solution of Troesche's problem by double exponential Sinc collocation method

In this investigation, the Sinc collocation method based on double exponential transformation is developed to solve the Troesche's problem. Properties of this method are utilized to reduce the system of strongly nonlinear two point boundary value problem to same nonlinear algebraic equations. Combining double exponential transformation through Sinc collocation method causes the remarkable resul...

Numerical indefinite integration by double exponential sinc method

We present a numerical method for approximating an indefinite integral by the double exponential sinc method. The approximation error of the proposed method with N integrand function evaluations is O(exp(−c1N/ log(c2N))) for a reasonably wide class of integrands, including those with endpoint singularities. The proposed method compares favorably with the existing formulas based on the ordinary ...
